The main theme of the September '97 issue of the TUG News-Magazine is “Connecting your AS/400 to the World Wide Web”, and will include articles by Charlie Harter, Managing Director of IMS; and Dan Mair, Webmaster at Orlan Karigan. (Both men were speakers at the September '97 MoM.)
If you have a short article to contribute to future issues, (on any AS/400 topic), contact the TUG/400 Editor at 416-622-8789, or via e-mail at dragland@tug.on.ca .
TUG Veterans, Ron Campitelli and Vaughn Dragland will be officially retiring from the TUG Board of Directors in order to concentrate their efforts exclusively on the Magazine. Vaughn will continue as Editor and Ron will carry on selling advertising. Their change in status opens up two board seats, which were filled during the election process. (See Election Results for further info...)
The five incumbents; >Dan Duffy, >Richard Dolewski, >Ed Jowett, >Léo Lefebvre, and >Ken Sadler; as well as two new nominees, >Gerry Hoffe and >Alkarin Sachedina; were all elected to the TUG Board by acclamation. The election of officers is slated for the July board meeting. Complete details will be published in the September issue of this magazine.

Here’s a mini-tip courtesy of News/400. You can use the RUNQRY (Run Query) command to quickly display a file’s contents. The display includes field formatting, and Query/400 is not required, nor do you need a preexisting AS/400 Query definition. You can display the contents of any physical or logical file with the following statement:
RUNQRY *N filename
Our newest board member, Alkarin Sachedina, was present at the last MoM and drew the business card for the door prize – a beautiful Track Suit. We would like to thank Midland Walwyn for donating the prize. The winner was Don Cadeau from Westburne.
