TUG eZine - July issue

The latest on-line TUG magazine is ready to read:
As you may know, in January we "went digital." We will still mail a limited number of copies of the printed magazine to TUG members and paid subscribers, but the new digital format is FREE Worldwide! Please take a minute to have a look at our fourth on-line edition, by clicking on the front cover image. You will notice that the flash-enabled interactive features are full of internal and external links, which make it easy to navigate and drill down for more detailed information.

Summer Special Events

1.) Smarter Planet Think Tank
TUG, in collaboration with IBM, is presenting a think tank session on August 12th on the theme of “Creating a Smarter Planet.” Don’t miss this special half-day morning forum/dialogue at IBM 3600 Steeles in Markham.

2.) Full-day Technical Session
We are trying to align the planets for another fantastic day-long, in-depth session (including lab) for the week of August 23. A few points still have to be resolved before we can announce what and where it will be, so stay tuned! Pay special attention to your email inbox for more details in the TUG Buzz.

Project Leadership Program Certification

New TUG benefit of Membership from IT World Canada

The University of Waterloo is the only top-level institution offering an online certification program in project leadership, which also covers preparing for the updated PMI exams. In cooperation with IT World Canada, Dr. Peter Carr, Professor and Director of the Management of Technology Online Program states, “We think this is not only a strong learning model to pursue, but also essential forfull time workers who will be upgrading their skills in such an essential area as project management with an onus on leadership.” Of note is the fact that this course can also be accessed through the Blackberry Smartphone, which is part of a pilot project undertaken between RIM and the University of Waterloo.
