Speaker:
Sandra Weir is a Senior IT Specialist at IBM. She has been at IBM since 1993. In the last four years Sandra has been immersed in eXtreme transaction processing and virtualization techniques to complement her knowledge of the WebSphere Application Server portfolio. She has worked with many customers to articulate and educate them on the value of developing a scalable, elastic and on-demand computing environment. She is currently the Canadian subject matter expert for Cloud Computing with WebSphere. Sandra earned her Bachelor of Science Degree from McMaster University and is an IBM Certified Expert.

Cloud Computing: Smarter IT Delivery
The Economist magazine states: “Clouds will transform the information technology (IT) industry ... profoundly change the way people work and companies operate.” How does your company deliver applications today? Do you build, install, and manage all of them yourself? How much is it costing you? How much effort is it to build and manage your environment? What if you could get access to new applications, custom testing environments, or additional computing capacity, all on demand, all whenever and wherever you needed it -- and all for a fraction of the traditional cost and effort. This is what Cloud Computing brings. Cloud Computing is all about dynamic provisioning of resources -- applications, testing environments, computing capacity.
