SESSION ABSTRACTS:

IBM Power i Current Status and Announcements.

This will take a quick look at the current status of IBM Power i versions and the support plan for them. It will review the latest IBM announcements for IBM Power i including NVMe storage and what the expectations are for the near future.

Power Systems Monitoring:
There is more to the IBM i than meets the EYE.

The IBM i power platform is the workhorse for many of our customers. The big black box that keeps on going and going. It runs the core systems that affect the daily operations for so many companies.

There is so much more then just monitoring the CPU, MEMORY and DISK of your IBM i.  Yes, you can use 3rd party products to send alerts for certain events.  Alerts do not tell the complete story.

From a business perspective you need to know about backups, job statuses, job logs, job queues. Are you or your partners giving you that information now?  Do you  monitor hundreds of data points, store them for as long as you want and then present them to you in a format that makes sense to you as a business owner?

There are lots of tools out there that will give you line charts, performance graphs and such. What if you had access to a methodology that leverages the people, the processes, and the tools to do more than manage your black box? It works with you to run your business so that you can make  business decisions with the information you need.

When you are looking to upgrade, you need to know what your IBM Power i did for you over the life of the system, then when you install upgrades, how did the upgrade impact what you invested in? Mid-Range is NOT talking about one time reports in pre-sales or post implementation, but organic information gathered constantly for as long as you have been a customer across all your systems at the same time on the same pane of glass. Truly one view to your organization. This is CONTEXT over Content.

This is what we do for all our customers. Some basic tools may give you charts about CPU but can they give you the impacts of your CPU against backups and job logs at the same time across all systems with one view?

Welcome to theHive: Listen in and see how you can have multiple views of all your systems with CONTEXT and Content.
