ABSTRACTS:
Session 1 (5:00 PM)
IBM i Best Kept Secrets
There are still a surprising number of little-known tips and tricks to help you get the most from your IBM i operating system. This wonderful and fully integrated operating system has so many tools and features that are available at no additional cost. Yet sadly, many system admins aren't even aware they exist. Are you using Performance Data investigator, the Plan Cache, condensed Index Advisor, authority Collection, IBM i vouchers… come learn about why you may want to use these tools/offerings and let's discuss tools and features you are using that you may want to share with other TUG members.
Session 2 (7:00 PM)
The New World of RPG Arrays
Have you noticed a common thread in many of the features added to RPG in the last few years? RPG's enhanced support for arrays has been the dominant theme.
We've had new ways to define them, including data structure arrays and varying dimension arrays. There are also new ways to utilize them, such as the For-Each operation and new built-ins like %Split, %ConcatArr and %List, along with the new operator IN. And that's just the start!
In this session, Jon and Susan will explore ways to put this new array support to work with code examples and use cases illustrating where they come in handy.
ALL PATRONS AND STAFF ARE ENCOURAGED TO BE FULLY VACCINATED TO ATTEND THE MoM IN-PERSON.
