IBM Bob”

Join us in exploring IBM Bob, a new AI-powered software development partner. We’ll look at how Bob supports the software development cycle through intelligent modes, tools, commands, and agentic workflows that understand your code, intent, and standards.

SESSION 2 (7:00 PM):

TOPIC: “Bob Demo and The Open-Source IBM i MCP Server”

In this session, we’ll dive into practical demos for IBM i developers, showing how Bob can explain, understand, refactor, and transform monolithic or legacy IBM i codebases. We will also explore the IBM i MCP Server, an open-source bridge that enables AI agents to securely interact with IBM i data and system operations using the Model Context Protocol.

Devansh is a Software Developer, IBM i App Dev & AI Toolchain Team. He has a Master's degree in Computer Science and Applied AI from the University of Ottawa (2025). His specialization was in Agentic AI through graduate coursework and multiple research internships. Devansh joined IBM in June 2025 and is currently a contributor to Project Bob for IBM i and the open-source IBM i MCP Server.

Sanjula Ganepola  

Sanjula Ganepola

Sanjula is a Software Developer at IBM working on IBM i application development tools. As an open-source advocate, he is an active contributor and maintainer of several Visual Studio Code extensions including IBM i Project Explorer, Code for IBM i, IBM i Testing, Source Orbit, and much more.
